Yes, but I’m trying to make up for it now.
Check out my new video “Bros vs. Hipsters.”
They’re both great schools. I’d say that you get to know people better and you get more attention from your professors at a smaller school like Bucknell, but you have more class options and there are more people to collaborate with at a larger school like Michigan. It also depends on what you’re studying and how proactive you are during your college experience. I’m glad I was lucky enough to spend time at both.
Yes, but if I could do it over again I would’ve taken a year off first and gone after that instead of transferring.
I was up at my cottage, I missed you too.
It means God Damn Independent (someone who wasn’t in a fraternity or sorority in college).
It’s actually a great school, I just transferred so late (after the fall semester of my junior year at Bucknell) that I had to scramble to graduate in two years. If you go there knowing you want to do film (or decide you want to study film your freshman or sophomore year) you come out with a great reel and a ton of knowledge. I’m still glad things worked out the way they did because I got to experience two great schools, but I wish I had known I wanted to study film earlier in my collegiate career.
You might want to listen to first episode of my podcast that features another Michigan film graduate (Liann Kaye) because we talk a lot about our respective experiences.
I wanted to go to USC or NYU but I transferred to so late that it wouldn’t have been a smart move, financially or academically.
I really miss being a college student, but at least I still have constant nightmares of failing final exams to keep me feeling young.
College, no question.
Pre-Gaming with Pat: Uncovered
A college freshman wrote a paper about my pre-game videos for her English class. Click the link to read it.
Congratulations! First of all, tell her that it’s going to be totally awesome:
You should try to visit her for some football games:

I’ve also been told that the pre-games are kind of fun:
The academics aren’t bad either:
Classes can be tough, but when you’re walking around a campus this beautiful, they’re a little easier to bear:

Tell her to learn the fight song. It’s not too difficult to memorize, but it’s the best one in the nation:
On the weekends she can go to great restaurants, concerts, student performances, or decide whether to go to Rick’s or Skeeps, a question that has been debated by Michigan students since the beginning of time.
I’m extremely jealous that she hasn’t even started her freshman year yet. I hope she has the best four years of her life. Go Blue!
My brother got into business school today and my sister goes to Harvard, but I’m going to be the most successful (unemployed) person in my family!
